5 Things to do in Penang

1) Visit the Ghost Museum

If you fancy a scare, you should visit the ghost museum. With different sections featuring the haunted legends from various countries, you will be in for an educational scare! Pose with the undeads at various photo spots as you learn about the local legends. This will be one haunting experience that you will never forget.


2) Learn some history at Fort Cornwallis

Fort Cornwallis is one of the oldest and most famous sights in Penang. It was built during the 18th century by the British East India Company under the direction of Sir Francis Light who was the founder of Penang and was designed to defend the city in case of an attack from the water.

You can see a statue of Francis Light that stands at the entrance to the fort. Some of the original cannons are also on display there.


3) Admire the Tanjung Bungah Floating Mosque

The Tanjung Bungah Floating Mosque was built on stilts directly over the water, giving it the illusion of it floating on top of the water. During low tide, you can walk directly underneath the mosque and check out this amazing feat of engineering and architecture that make this one of the most spectacular sight in Malaysia.


4) Hike to the top of Penang Hill

Looking to escape the buzz of the city? Why not take a trip and visit the Penang Hill. Standing at a height of 800m. It is easily one of the top attraction in Penang. Become one with natural as you start your trek up the hill from the Botanical Gardens. However, if you prefer a more relaxing way to reach the summit, you can take the Penang Hill Railway, one of the oldest funicular systems in the world.


5) Sunbathe on Batu Ferringhi Beach

Looking for some sun and sand? Make your way down to Batu Ferringhi Beach. It  is known for being one of the best beach on the island. Walk along the golden beach, take a dip in the soothing waters or just lay down and relax on the sandy beach. This is a must visit for all beach lover!
